Well, I bought some textbooks today and nearly pooped my panties at the prices of the books. I am thankful for the internet and used books--hopefully I bought the right art history book, no way am I paying 99 dollars for something I plan to use for one semester. The rest of my books I was able to buy used from Barnes & Noble online. I just have to find Art in Theory 1900-2000 maybe I can find that used at a bookstore in MKE.
In other news my college friend Phil is taking this semester off. I had a feeling that he wouldn't be coming back. I'm really going to miss him and his fantastic humor, but he says that he'll visit on weekends because he lives about an hour away. I hope he does but its going to be weird without him around. I also hope that he does come back in the fall. It'll be a sad dorm with out you Philip Marshall.
( Part Two! )
I have a new roommate from Germany. Her name is Rosie. Originally Andy and I weren't going to have another roommate but Chad, friend and resident hall director, wanted to move Rosie in with us. He says it's because we're nice and our room is in a good condition--the others were messy and embarrassing. She's very nice so far; it's a little awkward when one meets someone new but I think it'll be okay.
( But wait there's more! )

Oh I just don't understand image uploading anymore... (Oh I figured it out!) I drew a lame comic that doesn't have separating boxes and just wanted to share with you.

My left nostril is stuffed up with mucus... again. Usually I'm unable to breathe out of it, but now it is just gross.
Saw Burn After Reading at 9:20 at the Oriental. Went with Phil, Becky, Chesky, and Tegan. Now I'm watching Harold and Maude, however I might do my homework. Anyways, Burn After Reading was enjoyable, the humor was well paced and I really liked Brad Pitt's character.
There is a gay film festival goin' on at Marquette, started last week? Well I've been waiting to see an Islamic film about gay men who get sex changes so they can legally like men. Or at least that's what I think the gist of it is. I'm excited to see it! I was talking with one of the RA's and he thinks it might be a documentary. Maybe I'll see Casey tomorrow night (the movie is a five o'clock).
Wow, I'm just having a movie weekend extravaganza~ going to see Tropic Thunder on Sunday with Bob and Becky. Thank goodness I found a job. I now work as a cat care keeper at a cat hospital; The Cat Doctor. Sweetness.
See you guys later, I really need to not procrastinate any longer on homework.

It's been a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time since I last posted, however I have been kind of keeping up with all your live journal lives.
I have been searching for jobs since I moved to Milwaukee (gotta pay fo' all that stuff the school keeps makin' me buy along with bills, bills are important to pay) I applied at Potbellies. They didn't want me, and that's okay I don't think I want to work there anyway. And then I also applied at a cat hospital called The Cat Doctor. All they wanted was a kitty caretaker. I wore my awesome cat sweater today hoping I would get a call back about my interview, guess what. It fuckin' worked. I am now a magical kitty wizard.
I did my best.
So far I really enjoy two of my classes: Visual Dynamics and Artists Books. So far. I think I also enjoy Observational Drawing but I'm not getting enough feedback from my instructor AND have decided to challenge myself and do a whole bunch of silly things. Today we drew paper bags. F-U-N! Last Thursday we drew a model. He definitely looked like a serial killer/sexual offender. YEAH.
I would enjoy Space, Form & Materials if I liked orthographic drawings.
FUCK I AM SO PROCRASTINATING ON MY ASSIG NMENT DUE IN like... 13 HOURS. I'm behind in that class. We're supposed to have two orthographic drawings. I only have one. I'm drawing my DS which I will then construct out of cardboard. The DS will be about twice the original size. I want it to open. Lets see how that goes.
Tomorrow is switch day. I have to get cardboard from Utrecht. I hope I don't die. And if I did I wouldn't have to worry about paying those bills.

Work today was soul consuming. But it was pay-day! Yay!
Yesterday I went to the mall with my older sister and we shopped at Macys, Victoria Secret, DSW and went to Spencers for gag gifts to a bachelor-ette party. I have never felt like such a girl in my life. It was a whole new experience.
I ended up buying a pair of shoes at DSW and then a fifty-six dollar cardigan at Macys. WHAT THE FUCK WAS I THINKING BUYING IT?! I love it, but my bank account was probably freaking out. The shoes were 70% off, so... about eleven dollars. Not bad.
D:
In other news, our dog escaped the house this afternoon, my younger brother chased after her which only prompted her to run faster. Thankfully we got her back and now I have some nice blisters from walking furiously with a box of dog treats up and down the street.
Oh, what a day.

Saw it on Grace's post. Hell yes, that's all I can say, it's exciting. ( And I keep forgetting to add words and letters to my sentences today, I'm worried. )

Saw Maplewood fireworks~ best fucking fantastic fireworks I have seen in a loooooooooong time. My family and I sat on this really steep hill where we just laid back on the ground and watched 'em because they were right above us. My retinas are still flashing from that epic display. We got there ten minutes before they started, no chairs--just got up and left the house--and left right after they were done. Best hassle-free Fourth of July ever.

Emily thought she had a big cat...

But it isn't as big as this one.
IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!
It might be photoshopped, it probably is photoshopped.

Oh gosh... I've been looking for more scholarships and the like for the past--four and half hours. Oh man. I feel so crazy.
In other more wonderful news! My little brother had a track meet today! Awww~ he ran the 60 meter dash and the 100 meter sprint. He placed first in the 60 and third in the 100. I'm really proud of him and I feel like I don't tell him that enough--but he knows it through our unspeakable sibling bond. Hahaha!
And now... some art to make up for my lack of meaningful conversation:

The 20 Under 20 Minneapolis preliminary is over and I was not one of the chosen few to show my work at the Walker for the actual show. Disappointment has definitely set in and I think it found a spot in my left forearm which has been hurting reeaaaalllly bad since I called my mom. She cheered me up a lot, but now I'm really lonely. ( 'n' ) I need some lovings.
I think my art is more traditional than the contemporary/conceptual work they [the judges] were looking for. This will be the start of my 'rejected galleries' list. My attitude about this is better than it sounds in this entry.
I have a lot more to say today but it hurts too much to continue typing, and it's no fun to type with just one hand. D: Maybe I should go back to church and ask God if he's punishing me for being absent for soo long. 'Cause it seriously feels that way today...
P.S. I bought the most adorable turtle fabric today. ADORABLE.

It makes me want to cry. In other news, AP Art History test is tomorrow and I feel very unprepared yet ready to take it. I suspect I'll receive a 2 or a 3 but a score higher than that will make me take up religion. I'm serious.
Milk is good for you so drink it often.

I donated blood today and was cool about it. No freaking out or holding hands with anyone and I'm pretty surprised about that. I remember being one of the kids that had tantrums in the doctors office when it was time to get a shot or draw blood. I was doing pretty well, except when the lady stuck the needle in my arm I felt the pain in my shoulder rather than in the arm. She thought that was a little odd. After awhile my arm started to go numb. D: Ugh. But now my cute little red blood cells are cozy in a little baggy just waitin' to help some one out! OH! SO ADORABLE!
Luckily I was seated in front of the window, so I had some nice scenery to look at along with a RAINBOW!
Pretty sweet stuff.
I didn't work on my grant project today.
Didn't do anything. Except watch the most bizarre movie this morning. (I'll be writing my analysis on it for class).

Went to an art gallery today with James, who was kind enough to drive, and together we were lost in St. Paul. The building with the gallery was right under our noses. It made for a fun trip.
The gallery itself was small, hot, and smelled strongly of macaroni and cheese. The art was pleasant and I met the most awesome short artsy professor named Keith. Apparently the piece I have showing got an honorable mention, however I won't be recieving the paper/certificate that says I did. I'm not too bothered by it but, I am a little disapointed.
Art History test on May 14th.

My friend, Rachel's boyfriend, doesn't eat fruit. He doesn't like the texture. Poor, sad, little boy. SO I have decided to write a horrifying children's book based around him. It shall be a blast.
Today was a bad day. I didn't want to go to school. i haven't felt so grumpy and upset about having to attend class since my old high school.
Yesterday I went to an open casting call for the Coen's Brothers next film "A Silent Man" and had one hell of a time. Emily and I met the most adorable little boy, who I hope got a call back. We didn't, but that didn't bother us, the experience was good and the trip to Perkins afterward was enjoyable.
